Struggling North
Blogging may be sporadic for the next few days. We're heading back to the mother country after lunch today. The Horse Doctor has a meeting scheduled for tomorrow in Edinburgh, and on Friday we're going to Mike's funeral.
Since the meeting is work, and we've also got to bring down a whole load of scientific equipment that's been recalibrated, the company we work for has provided a hire car. This was meant to be a Mondeo Estate - plenty big enough for us, three dogs, a cat and some very expensive ultrasound scanners. What turned up at the office this morning, is a Chevrolet Tacuma or more correctly, a Daewoo Tacuma with a Chevy badge on it. This is not really big enough for the animals, let alone the scanners as well, and it has a wheezy little petrol engine that has to be thrashed painfully to maintain any kind of speed. It's going to be a fun journey; I'm just glad I don't have to pay for the fuel.
We should be able to exchange it in Edinburgh for the car we specified, but I'm not holding my breath.
Don't you just hate it when a company makes a promise and then fails to deliver?
