Cheeky bastards

I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes.

I've just realised that the coal bags have been reduced from twenty-five kilos to twenty. I thought we were getting through the stuff quicker than normal. And they charged us more for them this year than last, too.

Sneaky, very sneaky. It's just as well there was a whole load of nicely-seasoned beech wood left over from the Horse Doctor's woodchip bedding trial (that's animal bedding - you know, cows and sheep, before you get any stranger ideas than usual). And it was all delivered whole, rather than pre-chipped. It should keep us going for a year or two.

But the fireplace here doesn't work too well with just wood, so you need a bit of coal to get things started. I'm just going to have to be more careful when buying it in future.
