No flat cap, no whippet

Barbara has made her decision. Like all these things it was simple in the end. The job on offer was no better than the job she has; in some ways it was worse. The only reason for moving was because she's unhappy with some aspects of work here. Moving to another sector of the same company would just have been exchanging one set of problems for another, and at least she knows what the problems here are. Now all she has to do is find the right form of words to explain to the senior management types why she turned down their kind offer. Maybe if they really want her on their team they'll come up with something better.

On the plus side, her immediate boss here is using the fact that another sector is trying to headhunt her as a lever to try and get her a promotion with Wales. With a little bit of luck, the senior management in the Welsh business unit will realise that they can't take her for granted anymore. Things might just improve.

But I'm not holding my breath.
