Bollocks

Tomorrow around about lunchtime, the Horse Doctor and I will be loading assorted beasts into the car and driving north to Fife. On Sunday my dad turns seventy (yikes!) and on Monday, mum's organised for the whole family to go on a boat trip from Newport on Tay, up to Perth and back again by way of a party. It should be fun, even if there are too many small children running around screaming. So far, so good.

The problems start on Tuesday. We're meant to be going to Copenhagen for a short week, just to kick back and have a bit of a holiday. Since we're not going to be there long, the plan was to pack light and just go with hand luggage.

Well, that's not going to happen now, is it.

It'll be a miracle if we can get anywhere near Edinburgh Airport at all. At least our flight is direct, not going via the gibbering wreck that is Heathrow. Even so, it's going to be a lot of fun if we can't take anything on as hand luggage except passports and wallets. No ipod, no noise-cancelling headphones, no laptop. Not sure you can even take a book with you. I'm glad I'm not flying to Australia right now.

And no duty free gin, either. Buggery bollocks!

Ah well, maybe by Tuesday it will all have calmed down a little.

Plums? It kinda feels like a pluot week to me.

You could be right, John. Plums were last weeks fruit; I've just been too busy to change them.
I'm seriously considering to travel to the UK by train. It takes only 11 hours and if it were not for train changes in Frankfurt/Bruxelles and London, I would already have decided. It's just not fun to race across stations with a heavy suitcase in tow.

I hoped to go to Miami at the end of the month.
